Essential Oils

Aromatherapy is one of my favorite ways to bring the spa home with me. Essential oils have several practical uses too and can be an uplifting edition to daily life. Some of the ways you can use these amazing gifts from the earth:


  • Boosting my skincare regimen

  • Enhancing food and water

  • Diffusing-Providing a welcoming scent in various rooms of the house 

  • Assisting with mood uplifting

  • Inducing relaxation for deeper sleep

  • Aromatherapy bath 

  • Healing cuts or scrapes 

  • Making DIY soaps, candles and linen sprays

  • Cold and flu support


Essential oils can be found in the bloodstream 15-30 minutes after applying and are generally distilled from various parts of a plant. The oil itself will contain high levels of antioxidants. Check out this ORAC chart showing the antioxidant capacity of essential oils. Oils should not be used to replace foods or medicines but only to enhance your foods and lifestyle while being cautious of the amounts you use as they are very concentrated.


My number one pick has always been Young Living Oils. I have tried several other brands and none have surpassed the quality, effectiveness and purity of these oils.  Educate yourself on the uses of essential oils by watching videos online, reading books and talking to an oil distributor to learn how to properly use the oils. Always be VERY cautious when using oils on children. as many can burn or sting or cause reactions if applied in sensitive areas or if too much oil is used. 


Give essential oils a try as an addition to the items you already use and love OR replace all the items in your home that contain artificial and synthetic fragrance with these healthy, fresh smelling oils your body will recognize and enjoy.
